YOUR INFORMATION, EXPLAINED
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This policy describes how The Tripaura collects and uses information when you browse the website, create an account, send an enquiry, or book a trip. We handle personal data for the purposes described below and under applicable Indian data-protection and consumer laws.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, city, passport yes/no response, and a salted password hash. We do not store your password in readable form.
- Enquiries and bookings: the trip or destination you ask about, traveller count, booking reference, booking status, payment amount/status, and messages or follow-up details you provide.
- Payment records: payment identifiers and transaction status needed to confirm and support a booking. Card numbers, UPI PINs, and banking credentials are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by this website.
- Technical data: essential session cookies and basic request/security information needed to operate and protect the service.
2. How we use information
We use information to create and secure your account, respond to enquiries, manage trip bookings and payments, send account or booking communications, provide customer support, prevent fraud or misuse, maintain records, and meet legal obligations. We do not include your password in email messages or account PDFs.
3. When information is shared
We share only information needed for the relevant purpose with service providers such as hosting, email delivery, and payment processing providers. Where required to deliver a booked trip, relevant traveller information may be shared with the trip’s accommodation, transport, activity, or local service providers. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the safety, rights, and security of travellers and the service. We do not sell personal information.
4. Payment processing
Payments are processed by Razorpay or the provider shown at checkout. That provider may collect and process payment credentials under its own privacy terms. We receive transaction references and status so that we can reconcile payments and maintain your booking history.
5. Cookies and account security
The account uses an essential HttpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. The website does not need that cookie for browsing public trip pages, but account and booking features require it. Keep your sign-in details secure and sign out on shared devices. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards; no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
6. Retention
We retain account, enquiry, booking, and payment records for as long as needed to provide the service, respond to disputes, maintain financial records, and meet legal requirements. When information is no longer required for these purposes, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to lawful retention obligations.
7. Your choices and requests
You may ask to access or correct your account information, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or request deletion of your account and personal information, subject to information we must retain for completed bookings, accounting, security, or legal requirements. Email hello@thetripaura.com from your registered address and describe your request. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting.
8. Children
The account and booking service is intended for adults. A parent or lawful guardian should contact us before providing information about a minor traveller. We do not knowingly use this website to create accounts for children.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will appear on this page. For privacy questions or requests, contact The Tripaura at hello@thetripaura.com or +91 92204 79977.
